Arden Mo Bro’s take on moustache charity challenge
Posted on: Tuesday, December 1st, 2020
Members of the Arden Dies team have been growing a Mo for Movember.
A group of staff have ditched the razors throughout November in a bid to raise awareness and money for men’s health issues.
The Movember movement is a national campaign that kicks of Men’s Health Month, with an annual moustache growing event that aims to raise awareness of men’s health issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Simon Lynch, Operations Director at Arden Dies, said: “This year, with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has had a huge impact on people’s mental health, it’s been more important than ever to support Movember, which is why we were so keen to take part.
“It’s been getting a bit hairy on the shopfloor with the lads now sporting some impressive moustaches, but we’ve all had a great laugh and more importantly we’ve raised money and awareness for a fantastic cause.”
Four members of Arden Dies team – Simon Lynch, Jon Lewis, Russ Griffiths and Paul Sutcliffe – all took part in the Movember moustache challenge, while Andrew McCallister took part in the ‘Mo-ving’ challenge and walked an impressive 244.44 km throughout November.
To make the challenge even more fun we introduced our own ‘Mo Competition’ with a prize for the best moustache.
It was a close call with the team sporting some impressive facial fuzz, but we crowned our Production Manager Jon Lewis the eventual winner.
So far, we’ve raised £200 for the cause, but it’s not too late to sponsor the lads for their efforts. You can donate here.
