Double victory for Arden at the Stockport Business Awards

Posted on: Monday, October 6th, 2025

The Arden Group is celebrating a double triumph after taking home two awards at this year’s Stockport Business Awards.

We’re proud to announce that we were crowned winners in both the Family Business of the Year and Medium Business of the Year categories at the ceremony, which took place at Edgeley Park, Stockport on Thursday 2 October.

This recognition comes during a landmark year for Arden, as we celebrate our 60th anniversary – a journey that began in a cellar in Bredbury, Stockport, in 1965.

Arden Dies Operations Director, Sarah Poynter, said: “To win not one but two awards at the Stockport Business Awards is a huge honour and an incredible way to mark our 60th anniversary year.

“As a proud family-run business with deep roots in Stockport, these awards mean so much to us. They celebrate both our commercial success and our commitment to remaining true to the values that have guided us since the very beginning.

“This achievement belongs to the whole Arden team – past and present – whose hard work, talent and dedication have shaped our business and continue to drive our success. We’re delighted to share this recognition with every member of the team.”

Founded by brothers Frank and Philip Poynter in 1965, Arden began life as a small die-making workshop. Today, the Arden Group of companies, which includes die-making, engraving, and software divisions, has our headquarters in Marple, Stockport, and operates internationally with offices across Europe, the USA, and India. Employing around 260 people worldwide, the business is now in its third generation of family ownership.

The Stockport Business Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of companies across the borough, highlighting the strength and diversity of Stockport’s business community.

As part of the celebrations, we were also inspired to support the event’s charity partner, Moya Cole (formerly St Ann’s Hospice). After learning that the hospice needs to raise £20,000 every day to remain operational, we have pledged to donate the £568 raised through our Easter and Christmas raffles this year to this incredibly deserving cause, which provides vital support to so many local families.
